First African Food and Film Festival

The African and African-American Studies Department will be hosting the First Food and Film Festival in Fall 2018 on November 1st, 2018 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at The Hall Center. Then on November  2nd, the festival will be in the Big 12 and Woodruff Auditorium in the Kansas Memorial Union, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Come and join a platform to exchange ideas and to promote intercultural awareness through showcasing films from West Africa and the Arab World. While you're there, you can enjoy a taste of West African and Arab cusine.

On November 1st, Senegalese filmmaker Mamadou Dia will be screening and discussing one of his films at the Hall Center for the Humanities visiting scholar. He will be having lunch with our department at the Memorial Union on the 6th of November. If you are interested and wish to join, please click here.
