Biography —
Asmaha was born, raised and partly educated in Tanzania. She did her undergraduate degree at the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania. She earned her MA in Applied Linguistics from Ohio University. Her research interests include; Second Language teaching, Second Language Acquisition, and Computer Assisted Language Learning. Before joining KU, she taught KiSwahili at the University of Virginia, University of Illinois- Urbana Champaign, International Centre for Language Studies, Ohio University, and Michigan State University. Asmaha likes involving herself around activities related to creating and developing KiSwahili teaching resources. She enjoys reading, dancing, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.
